AfreeKart is a programmable escrow infrastructure project for commerce, using smart contracts to enforce safer buyer-seller transactions and reduce trust friction in online trade.
AfreeKart is building the trust layer for commerce with escrow-powered transactions on Arbitrum and EVM chains. We help buyers and sellers transact more safely by locking funds onchain until delivery conditions are met, reducing fraud and failed delivery in online and social commerce. Our core product starts with a marketplace and expands into AfreeKart Pay, an escrow-backed payment link product for merchants and social sellers. The long-term vision is programmable trust infrastructure for real-world commerce, starting with African markets where informal trade is large but trust enforcement is weak.
During the Buildathon, we plan to strengthen AfreeKart’s Arbitrum implementation by refining the escrow payment flow, improving smart contract logic, and building a smoother user experience for buyer-seller transactions. We also aim to improve payment-link functionality, delivery-based release logic, and dispute-aware transaction flows so the product is closer to real-world merchant use.
AfreeKart is currently pre-seed and actively pursuing non-dilutive funding, grants, and early ecosystem support. We are pre-launch, with product and infrastructure milestones in place, and focused on validating the escrow model, onboarding early users, and preparing for beta growth.
