Compliance Officer

Job Summary
The Compliance Officer is responsible for ensuring that the company complies with all applicable Philippine government regulations, permits, licenses, and statutory requirements. The role includes handling business permit renewals, coordinating with government agencies, processing mandatory employee benefit remittances, and maintaining compliance documentation to avoid penalties and operational disruptions.
Key Responsibilities
Business Permits & Licenses
· Process and renew business permits and licenses on time, including:
o Mayor’s/Business Permit
o Barangay Clearance
o BIR Registration updates
o SEC/DTI compliance requirements including BMBE Certificates monitoring
o Fire Safety Inspection Certificate
o Sanitary Permit and other local permits
· Monitor permit expiration dates and ensure timely renewals.
· Prepare and submit documentary requirements to government agencies.
Government Agency Liaison
· Coordinate and maintain good working relationships with various government offices, including:
o Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
o Social Security System (SSS)
o Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth)
o Home Development Mutual Fund (Pag-IBIG Fund)
o Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE)
o Local Government Units (LGUs)
· Attend meetings, inspections, and compliance hearings when required.
· Handle submission and follow-up of compliance documents.
Mandatory Benefits & Remittances
· Prepare and process monthly remittances and contributions for:
o SSS in MySSS Account
o PhilHealth in EPRS
o Pag-IBIG in ESRS
· Assist in withholding tax for compensation and coordinate in external accountant
· Ensure accurate computation and timely filing/payment of employee mandated benefits.
· Coordinate with HR and Accounting regarding payroll-related compliance.
Compliance Monitoring & Documentation
· Maintain organized records of permits, licenses, remittances, and government correspondence.
· Monitor updates in Philippine labor laws, tax regulations, and government compliance requirements.
· Prepare compliance reports and summaries for management.
· Assist during government audits and inspections.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Legal Management, Public Administration, Human Resources or Accounting related field.
· At least 1–3 years of experience in compliance, permits processing, payroll compliance, or government liaison work.
· Familiarity with Philippine labor laws and statutory compliance requirements.
· Experience dealing with BIR, SSS, PhilHealth, Pag-IBIG, and LGUs is an advantage.
· Strong organizational and communication skills.
· Proficient in Microsoft Office applications.
· Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
